‘’ Liée à une recherche spirituelle: la réduction correspond ici à un dépouillement. Les trouées de lumières sont des sortes d’interstices divins, comme Malraux l’entendait: «le seul domaine où le divin est visible est l’art ». C’est une expression de l’esprit, une quête immatérielle, qui lie art et introspection, comme pour Nemours, Kupka ou Mondrian, ou pour les colorfield painters comme Rothko et Newman.

"Linked to a spiritual search: the reduction here corresponds to a stripping.
